In mid-April 2012, five teachers from Denmark, Greenland, and the United States, were given the experience of a lifetime. The teachers lived, worked, and flew alongside airborne polar scientists in Greenland, and saw firsthand how remote data are collected on NASA’s Operation IceBridge. In the process, the experience provided the educators with better tools to teach students about science. Read
In this one hour webinar PolarTREC teacher Tim Spuck explains his work with the NASA IceBridge Project, the largest airborne survey of Earth's polar ice ever conducted.
Join the International Sun Shadows Project! - Pupils and teachers all over the world will join forces to measure the shadows of a 1m long stick.
Participation in the project is free and open to all! Teachers, students and scientists from around the world are encouraged to join in and make their own measurements and enter the data
This PolarConnect live event is a one hour presentation by PolarTREC teacher Michael League and the research team studying Adaptations of Marine Worms in Antarctica. The team covers field logistics, what they have found, and what the next step is in the scientific process.
This PolarConnect Event was with teacher Michael League and a team of researchers in Antarctica. They are looking at adaptations of marine worms. The event focused on adaptations and biomes. Length: approximately one hour

A link to the Young Explores Grant and Program. Today, Young Explorers grants help cover field project costs for hard-working, passionate, creative individuals with great ideas. We focus on the disciplines we're known for, and also on emerging fields that matter most to understanding—and improving—the world we share.
The students' task is to produce a brochure for both the Arctic and the Antarctic. These brochures will be used by the representatives of "Here We Go Travel" to advertise the virtues of traveling to both polar regions. The students will produce a 45 second radio spot that they will write and record as part of their overall
