Everyone was geared up for a drippy day, four-wheelers loaded, heading out for the field, except me. An odd sensation, I felt like I was going to miss something. My task for today was to get everything ready for the Live from IPY Event. I didn’t think it would take that long.

Lots of emails, a bunch of instant messaging, and a professional help from the IT guys, Brad and Dorin, and we were in business. Not only did we have the projector up and running, we also had the platform, HorizonWIMBA, ready to go. Progress noted, the next innovation was to get multiple computers up so folks could ask questions while we shared stories. Got them going, registered them, still going strong. Quick dial up the 800 number, get the teleconference going, in business all around. WAIT, don’t forget to mute the speaker phone. OK, ready to go.

I know that for tech projects to look easy takes a significant amount of effort from a bunch of different people. The powerpoint I had created managed to go from middle school quality to collegiate quality in a few days with the help of all the ARCUS staff. They dressed it up nicely, adding touches that I have no idea about. THANKS ARCUS FOR ALL THE HELP, YOU FOLKS ARE AWESOME!!

Today’s journal are the faces behind the voices you heard today. Quick shots taken by Susan Lebo, from Honolulu, HI. Thanks Susan.

The final slide of the PowerPoint needed to be skipped to finish in time. Here is a web-version, it sums things up pretty well for me.
