This article describes the upcoming travels of PolarTREC science teacher Nell Kemp from Kenwood Academy High School’s Academic Center. Ms. Kemp will be traveling to Toolik Field Station in Alaska to examine how arctic wolf spiders influence arctic food webs.
Polar Bears International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the worldwide conservation of the polar bear and its habitat through research and education. They provide scientific resources and information on polar bears and their habitat to all interested parties. There is a tools for teachers and students section complete with lesson plans, a board game, maps, and related links.
The students' task is to produce a brochure for both the Arctic and the Antarctic.
