The CIMSS/UW-Madison Global and Regional Climate Change course for G6-12 science teachers has been translated to Spanish and is now available online. The translation was done by Juan Botella, a native Spanish speaker who teaches high school science in Madison, WI and a former PolarTREC teacher. The Arctic Climate Modeling Program (ACMP) provides curriculum-based arctic resources for use with K-12 students. Resources include inquiry-based classroom lessons, a student network for observing arctic weather (S.N.O.W.) , digital lectures, and an interactive multimedia learning system (on DVD). The resources presented were all designed with input from 21 scientists from the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute.
This is a food web activity that I developed after my spring 2006 TREC expedition on board the USCGC Healy, for 30 days in the Bering Sea. It is a set of lessons that include setting the context with a map activity, researching the organisms in, on, and around the Bering Sea, reading an article or book on connections between
This lesson answers the question: How does ice floating on the ocean act as it melts?
Objective
* Students will learn about temperature, salinity and their effect on density.
* Students will learn that ocean currents are caused by differences in densities as a result of temperature and salinity. These differences allow ocean currents to circulate water

This book is a message from many of the places where the effects of rapid climate change are being seen and where scientists are studying what is happening. It is also a report on what these changes mean and what we can do about them.
As a witness to climate change, I have stood in the empty rookeries of displaced

The Woods Hole Research Center conducts research, identifies policies, and supports educational activities that advance the well-being of humans and of the environment. Our mission is to understand the causes and consequences of environmental change as a basis for policy solutions for a better world. We specialize in ecological research on land use in the normally forested
WHAT IS MY NASA DATA?
Mentoring and inquiry using NASA Data for Atmospheric and earth science for Teachers and Amateurs (MY NASA DATA) is a project to enable K-12 teachers and students, as well as citizen scientists, to explore the large volumes of data that NASA collects about the Earth from space. Students use scientific inquiry and math skills as
ARCUS is a non-profit corporation consisting of institutions organized and operated for educational, professional, or scientific purposes. To achieve its mission, ARCUS frequently provides support to workshops to facilitate discussion of important arctic research initiatives, produces workshop reports to publicize researcher recommendations for arctic science priorities, and assists the arctic research community with other publications and information distribution needs
