This presentation is designed to supplement an eighth grade science unit on polar ice but could easily be used for other audiences. The presentation covers the differences between ice in the Arctic and Antarctica, how ice affects salinity, temperature and currents, an exploration of various ice types and a summary of current research efforts to study polar ice.

Dr. Jacqueline Grebmeier presents an overview of the arctic ocean ecosystem. She outlines the key environmental factors influencing arctic marine food webs and discusses recent changes in biogeochemical cycles, biodiversity, migration and range of species, and general ecosystem health in the region.
Dr. Lee Cooper presents his research at the 2012 Arctic Ocean Ecosystem Workshop in Barrow, Alaska on arctic ocean processes and how these relate to oceans around the world.
The following presentation was given by Dr. Patricia Yager at the 2012 Arctic Ocean Ecosystem Workshop in Barrow, Alaska. The presentation outlines Dr. Yager's work in biological and chemical oceanography, and focuses on the feedbacks between climate change and marine ecosystems at different locations around the world.
This presentation, made at the 2012 Arctic Ocean Ecosystem Workshop in Barrow, Alaska outlines the mission of the Alaska Ocean Observing System (AOOS). The AOOS represents a network of critical ocean and coastal observations, data and information products that aid our understanding of the status of Alaska’s marine ecosystem and allow stakeholders to make better decisions about their use of
This is presentation provides an overview about sea ice in Antarctica as presented by Dr. Patricia Yager. She has slides about the daylight and seasons and related sea ice concentrations. She also has several slides about sea ice as a habitat and about the types of organisms associated with the sea ice. The main part of this presentation focuses on
