This Live from IPY was conducted with PolarTREC teacher Frank Kelley and a team of researchers working on the Nuvuk Archaeology Project outside Barrow, Alaska. The event was held on August 5, 2008 and had approximately 100 participants.
This Live from IPY Event was conducted with the Earth Science Teachers Institute at Liberty Science Center. Missy Holzer and the REU Team presented about their geologic research in Svalbard, Norway.
Kirk Beckendorf, along with researchers from the University of Wisconsin Madison are based at McMurdo Station, Antarctica and traveling around the continent maintaining automatic weather stations. About 300 students from about 13 states joined the event.
