Ice that forms in the polar oceans is an important driver behind the global climate. This ice is physically different from frozen precipitation in a number of different ways. This PolarConnect event was held on 16 August 2010, and included Keri Rodgers and members of the ITEX research team studying tundra plant changes in response to a warming climate in the arctic. The research team worked in Barrow and Atqasuk, Alaska. This event was conducted in English and Spanish, and was the first bilingual PolarConnect event.
