as my expedition page. Yes, there are tons of plants growing, they are
just mostly fairly small on our plots. We passed the last tree growing
as we drove up the Dalton Highway on our way up, so there are no trees
around. However, in some places there are some pretty good sized
shrubs, maybe about waist high. Where our research site is all pretty
much tussock tundra, which is a grassland area made up of clumps of
grass surrounded by low lying vegetation. It makes for really difficult
walking! Interestingly, the low lying vegetation includes small
birches, blueberry and cranberry bushes, but they are only inches high!
Very cute!
Thanks for the question!
