Hi Mr. Harris. I am glad to see you had rifle training and you are prepared for polar bear encounter. When will you be out on the ice conducting your experiments?

Hi Jo I am on the ice now.  We spent the first few days setting out 6 one kilometer transect lines from a center pole.  Cathy is out now with some of the postdoc's training them on how to collect the snow data.  We have several different kinds of bouy's set out and the scientists are getting ready to use some other kinds of instruments to measure the ice thickness.
