After reading many of the journal entries and learning that you are taking samples of ocean and can trace where it comes from was rather interesting. Then I go to thinking about the oil spill in the Gulf Coast and the nuclear event in Japan. If what you are saying about tracing where water can come from due to the what occurs in at the surface - what are your thoughts about the oil in the ocean bottom - will it eventually move to who knows where? What about the radiation and the phytoplankton in the Japan area. Will some of this radiation show up dispersed throughout the ocean and be at a negible level?
