Predatory Spiders in the Arctic Food Web

Dear Mr. LaFave, Hi! My name is Anna Severtson and I go to St. Mark Catholic School in Florida. Have you ever worried about being attacked by one of the predators you are studying? Thank you for your time and cooperation.

That's an interesting question Anna. I'm not worried about being attacked by the predators we are studying because we only study wolf spiders, and so far I haven't seen any larger than my fingertip. They are completely harmless. We do carry pepper spray in the field for bears though. While the risk is very low, we put safety first.
