Hi, Mr. LaFave. I am a student at St. Marks school in Florida. I was reading your journal entry from June 6, 2012. You said you found a fossil in a canyon wall.
Did you ever find out what the fossil was from? I am very curious! Thank you so much. Aeryn

I'm glad you caught that I wasn't very specific in that entry Aeryn! We saw several fossils, and I haven't taken the time to identify any individual ones. The fossils we saw in that area are marine invertebrate fossils (animals without a backbone that live in the ocean). Mollusks, brachiopods, and coral are common.
