Hello Christina- We are seeing that science doesn't always happen on our schedule first hand through your journals. Is the amount of grounded time that your team has experienced typical for an expedition at this time of year? How about the other science aboard? Have they been able to complete what they had planned? I am curious as to what Brenna has to say as she was on my expedition and I felt that we had little down time due to weather and wind-- although her ice time may have been limited. Talent night sounded like too much fun. Have you ventured into charades as there are some charade sharks amongst you? Loves the bear pics. Deanna Wheeler

Hi Deanna! There are so many factors that go into being able to actually complete
the science that everyone came here to do - weather, ice conditions,
bears, radio collars, hours of daylight, helicopter issues, boat issues,
etc. It's amazing the logistics that go into these amazing science
research projects.
The other two teams on board have been gathering as much data as
possible. The water sampling group will be starting their final of 3
trials for the UV light exposure experiment today. They would still
like to collect more samples using the CTD. The ice diving team has had
many successful days out on the ice. They are able to go out some of
the days that the helicopters can not go out. Hopefully, they will be
able to go out later today and I'll be able to join them.
Thanks for the charades idea - I may have to organize that!
