Hi Jill- congrats on your selection to PolarTREC! It is an amazing group to be a part of, and your expedition looks to be a most excellent adventure.

I really look forward to your journals, particularly comparing your experience in a small boat along the coast to mine further offshore in a bigger vessel. I envy the opportunities you will have to interact with ocean, shore, wildlife, and native communities.

Hi Bill,As you have experienced yourself, I am awed and humbled to be in the
presence of such amazing people. I am increasingly impressed as we meet
again each day. We thoroughly enjoyed your presentation and instruction
on photography. I took a photography class in college, back in the dark
room and enlarger days. I am looking forward to going digital and
actually being able to share them via the PolarTREC website!
I will do my best to keep up with my journaling in the field. I feel
that in the 27 foot Boston Whaler we will likely experience more spray
than you guys did on the big ship. I'll bet CH2M Hill will have me well
outfitted, what ever the situation!
I too, am looking forward to gently and respectfully integrating myself
into the local community for the few weeks that I am there.
