Hi Amber! Glad you made it safely to your on-board bunk! My students and I are excited to follow your travels and learn more about ship life and the Larsen Ice Shelf area-so we'll stay tuned in and join you on your trip.
Now about that gumby suit-was it hard/easy to put on and just how long could someone survive in the water while wearing it?

Take care and happy sailing,

Lisa

Lisa,I asked around and found out that in general if you fall in the
Antarctic waters you have less than 5 minutes to be pulled onboard
before you body goes into hypothermic shock. However, with the gumby
suit on, you'd be cold but comfortable for a few hours. You might even
survive for a whole day or so...

Also, it's not too hard to put on, you just pull it on over your clothesand mine was a little big for me. :)
