Dear Mrs. Green's class,
No there are not any schools or permanent residents on the Antarctic Continent.  Most of the research projects are conducted by university researchers but there are no formal school facilities or children to attend them.  There is only a temporary population that fluctuates between the summer and winter seasons and also varies between the different research stations.  The population at McMurdo station will reach about 1,100 by the middle of January and drop to around 100 during the dark, cold and isolated winter season beginning in April.

Thanks for the question,
Ann Linsley
