If you were to be bitten by an unknown type of fish, what would you do. What if they were poisouness? What if they were electric? What if one sting could paralyze you with a special type of poision? Would you be prepared for all of those things? And how would you prepare FOR all of those things???

                                                                                                                                                                                                           Sincerely,
Dylan From John Wood's 6th grade science class

Hi Dylan,Those are great questions and things I hadn't even thought about! Thanks. Luckily, I won't be in the water. We'll be fishing from a boat. But it is possible that something we catch in our nets might have an opportunity to bite me on deck, so I better give this some thought. The best way to prepare for this is to do my homework before I go. I need to talk to the scientists who I am going with, talk to the captain of the boat who knows the waters very well and what lives beneath them, and do some reading on my own. Hopefully, I will be with people who are prepared for those things. I'll let you know if I find out about any poisonous or electric animals in the Antarctic waters.

Dear Ms. Dell,Thanks for all that information. I am glad i said that because you could have gotten really hurt if you weren't prepared. Also, when you go on your expidition would you send me some pictures of the types of fish you catch and how the waters are like where you are etc. I would really like to show them to my 6th grade class.
Thanks again,
Dylan from John Wood's Science class

Hi Dylan,I'll be taking a lot of photos and some video. I'll be posting it on the PolarTREC website (the same site that you will be tracking your teacher, Mr. Woods). So keep a look out!! What are some of your favorite fish?
