Hi guys!
There have been lots of fun things to do on board! Science-wise the funnest thing to do has been to do observations. I absolutely love to go up to the bridge and take a pair of binoculars and look at what is happening out on the sea or on the ice. That's why I like to do ice observations so much. I can go and look at the ice and just watch it change from observation to observation.

I love trying to find the mega-fauna (the whales, the seals, the birds) I know they are out there, you just gotta be looking in the right place when they swoop on through, or make a blow, or pop up to look at you. So, that is the funnest thing to do for me, and lucky for me, I can do that all I want. Having another pair of eyes up on the bridge looking for animals is just good.

How big was the polar bear? (Remember I didn't see it.) I was told it was a medium sized bear. We have seen lots of tracks of polar bear, especially when we got up north. But only that one polar bear, and then it was about 20 miles from the ship. BUT, we are going back up to look at the ice and compare the way it was, with the way it is, and we might have another chance to see one.

I'll keep doing my favorite and funnest thing to do and let you know IMMEDIATELY, if I do:)

warmly,

Mrs. P
