It has been so much fun following your journals from Kevo. Glad to see they have a sauna! :) Brandi and I are building one in our backyard this summer; just poured the foundation.
How are the bugs? Anything in comparison to your time in the Brooks Range river guiding?
So, one of your students and I connected at the Farmer's Market here in town yesterday! It turns out that her mom lives here in Coeur d'Alene and she comes down here to spend the summers. Her name is Megan. :) Her mom Jenn and my wife happen to be close friends, and when we were introduced yesterday I asked where she went to school in Fairbanks. Then I said with a smile, "I know your teacher!"
We talked about PolarTREC and she had lots to say about how wonderful of an experience it was for her and the rest of class to have some "face time" with you from Kevo and how neat it was to have her teacher go and do some important science in such a unique place.
I hope all is well Carol! We are two-for-two on small world encounters so far. Who knows what the third will be!? :)
