Hello Mr. T, Your trip sounds absolutely amazing, Alaska looks very beautiful and it must be so rewarding to be working to help save such an incredible place! I was wondering if scientists could potentially find out/are they already aware of an estimate of the total amount of carbon dioxide gas that will be released once the permafrost melts completely (and how much this will warm the earth), and do you think that this information could potentially help scientists better prepare for the future challenges that may arise with the increased warming rate of the climate? Thanks! --Catlin Cavanaugh

Caitlin -
The research I was working on was trying to figure out how much carbon is being released from thawing permafrost, and where it's going. It will take a long, long time (hundreds or thousands of years) for the permafrost to thaw completely. If it does, and goes to CO2, the earth will be a much hotter place.
