Hi my name is Emily. I have been doing research on your on your topic and i have a few questions. I noticed that you mentioned another field location besides McMurdo camp. it is the WAIS camp and i was wondering where it is located on Antarctica.

Another question I had was what this research that you are doing on the weather has to do with my future, or anyone elses.

it would be greatly appreciated if you could get back as soon as possible!

Thanks!!   Emily

Hi Emily,

Sorry to have taken so long to respond to your question. WAIS Divide Field Camp is located in West Antarctica (kind of between the Antarctic Penisula and McMurdo). WAIS stands for the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. It's latitude and longitude is 79o28.058'S, 112o05.189'W.
The data being collected by the WAIS weather station is primarily being used for weather forecast for the people who work at WAIS and also to help provide weather forecast for other parts of Antarctica. Some of the weather stations are being used to try and understand the weather in Antarctica.
Hope  this helps
