Hey Mr.Gillette,

Where are you sleeping? And how long do you get to sleep each day?

Well hello Tori.  Sleep so far has been ok.  The plane ride from LA to Auckland, New Zealand was a little rough, but the flight wasn't full so I got to spread out a bit.  It didn't really help that I'm tall enough I still can't fit across 3 seats without curling up a bit.  I think I got about 3 hours of sleep off and on during the flight.  Last night was nice, about 7 hours or so.  I don't expect much more than that for the next several weeks.  I was informed last night that we will be working somewhere between 15-18 hour days, and then I get to work on answering emails and writing journals.Good and important question.  I hope things are going well back at CT.

The darkness isn't really all that bad.  Some of the dorms don't have windows so you don't really notice anyway.  We are sleeping in a room with windows but there are shutters that block almost all of the light.  It gets quite dark.  In the field, that will be a different story.  I usually don't have too much trouble just sleeping if I'm tired.  Sounds like some people in class, doesn't it?  Just cause the lights are on doesn't mean you can't sleep!  Cheers,~Gillette
