Wow Mrs. Foletta, this trip sounds like so much fun!  I think it's so neat how you picked blueberries, you really picked them yourself, we don't do that often! ... or ever.    The bear you saw, that must've been so amazing! I loev how it walked along the side of the lake watching you!  Great pictures!  And the animal tracks in the mud are really cool too.  Heidi jumped in the mud, that's so funny!  She's almost as crazy as you! Haha Just kidding!  I hope you continue to have a great time!

Hi Chelsey! Yes, it was incredible picking blueberries and we found three types all in different climate zones. The tundra blueberry plants were only a few inches tall but the ones we found at Mica Lake on Tuesday were on bushes about three feet tall. Here is a picture of the blueberry bush.
I wasn't that excited about the grizzly following us along the shoreline and sniffing, but since I didn't see him that night, I am fine with it. More recently I spotted a black bear like the ones you see in Yosemite. It was looking at me while I was waiting for Caleb and Eric to set the thermometer in the weather station. The bear and I shared a stare for about 5 seconds until he took off the other direction. That bear seemed like a teddy bear compared to the grizzly. I did not have a chance to get a photo of the black bear.
I have been enjoying the adventure tremendously!
