Brooks Range
We've had beautiful weather the past few days and the Brooks Range that borders camp can be easily viewed.

We have some mammals in camp that I've finally managed to get some videos and pictures of. We have a family of red foxes that lives near camp. There are two kits that can frequently been seen playing together. The video below is of one of the kits. He is a dark color, which is a color variant known as a cross fox. I've also managed to capture pictures of a vole and ermine. As the temperatures start dipping for fall I can't help but think how cold these little guys might get. But, they are adapted to these cold environments and should do fine.

Ermines are a type of weasel. This one was very curious about us and was running in and out of the boardwalk planks.

I managed to get a quick picture of a vole that I encountered on my walk the other day.
