Putting aside the question of, "Am I going to the Arctic?"... The better question is, "Am I going to Iceland?"
My bus from East Hampton to Queens New York arrived on time, and the taxi was waiting! Once at the airport I tested out my TSA Pre-check which is an expedited security screening program that allows passengers considered low risk to receive expedited screening processes. Wahoo! I was invited to skip the seemingly forever long line and was whisked through security without even taking my shoes off! Awesome! Iceland here I come. With plenty of time to spare I wandered around a bit to find the perfect pre-flight snack. With Coach Cerello's health class voice in my mind, I considered my options...Which snack would she recommend?
Gate Changer-Game Changer?
When flying to remote areas you learn to go with the flow...However, when departure gates begin to change, again, and again and again...it's never a good sign.
As I sipped my smoothie (good choice!) near Gate 24, I relaxed and decided to use my time to research Iceland.
Departure changed to Gate 22, now worries as it was only 2 gates away, so I stayed where I was. After all, I was really enjoying my smoothie and learning more about Iceland!
Departure changed to Gate 26...ok, a little concerned as gate changes are never a good sign at an airport. But it was only a few gates in the other direction...
Gate C? I'm in Gate B with only 20 minutes to boarding....but no worries, how far away can gate C be?
A bus? To Iceland? Well, this is getting interesting.
Finally, after multiple escalators up and down, long winding hallways and...a bus, I arrived at Gate C, only to read the small print on our flight sign.
So, did I make it out of New York?
