When I go to the South Pole, it's going to be pretty cold (about -20 degrees F) so I'm going to need to wear some special gear. Since I live in South Carolina, the warmest clothes I own are sweatpants and sweatshirts. That's not going to cut it at the South Pole.

When I go on my expedition, I'll be stopping in New Zealand where I'll get my extreme cold weather (ECW(abbreviation) Extreme Cold Weather clothing) gear. But, right now, I've borrowed an ECW(abbreviation) Extreme Cold Weather clothing kit from ARCUS so I could see what I'd be getting and so I could show it to my students.

    Here's what it looks like:

    ECW gear
A lot of the cold weather gear I'll be using - jacket, pants, boots, balaclava, hat, goggles, and gloves.

    Me, trying on the ECWs
Trying on the gear. It's getting really warm and I don't even have the jacket on yet!

    Wearing all the gear
Boo! With all the gear on, you can't even tell who's in there.
