This was a day of reorganization. Tomorrow Chris and Heidi will be going with Dr. Kaufman to Chris' project lake, Mother Goose out of Dillingham. I will be joining Caleb and newcomer Eric to go to Caleb's Masters project lake, Mica in the Prince William Sound. The equipment we brought back and other equipment stored will have to be distributed to the two teams. Since I had not been able to work on my journaling, I stayed at the University of Alaska dorms where the team stays when we come to Anchorage, to work on photo processing and journaling. The rest of the team went to dry out the equipment drenched by the rain we experienced, repair and purchase needed items and food, and organize equipment for the two teams.

At the end of the day everyone was ready for a break. Kristi Wallace, who works at the USGS in Anchorage and who I interviewed earlier, invited us to dinner at her house. Eric was not flying in at midnight, so would not be joining us. Dinner was great! Each person was responsible for making part of the dinner. We were given a recipe and ingredients for a Spanish tappas dish and we all set to work in Kristi's kitchen preparing our own tappas dish. My dish was a garlic mushroom dish. It was great fun.

Once we all completed our project, we put them all together on the table and Kristie served grilled salmon. It was a great shared experience and send-off for the two teams.

Kristi was going to go with Dr. Kaufman's team to Mother Goose. We found a Mother Goose book on Kristi's shelves and of course had to pose with it.

We would meet Kristi in the morning before each team went its separate way. So back to the University dorms for the night. Eric was delayed and did not get in until 3 am, so Caleb went to the airport to pick him up hours before we were to fly to Mica Lake.

Tomorrow we would start our next adventure together!!!
