Today I went down to the Polar Field headquarters in Littleton, Colorado to see Robbie Score who had gathered up my gear for the expedition. It was great to see Robbie again. We hung out together a bit in Fairbanks during the orientation. Polar Field has a nice office with about 20 employees. Their whole job is to provide logistics and support for teams going up to the Arctic. Pretty neat thing to be a part of!

    Trying on Gear
These fleece pants might be just a tad short but they're nice and cozy none the less.

As you can see Robbie found some great gear for the trip. The archaeologists - Bill and Jeff - suggested I bring one full set of rubberized, non-breathable rain gear and one full set of breathable Gore-tex rain gear. Robbie found those no problem. She also found some solid rubber boots (for digging in the ground and sloshing across Arctic streams), warm gloves and hat, a 4-season tent, sleeping bag and a nice wide sleeping pad. I'll be relaxing in the lap of luxury! Oh! And the mosquito netting shirt tops it all off. Looking good - thanks Robbie!

    Mosquito net shirt
I'm all ready for a night on the town looking this way. It makes you wonder why everyone doesn't wear a mosquito net shirt all the time. The itchy bites on the back of my calves from Oklahoma are a poignant reminder of how much I'll need this shirt up in Alaska this summer. I'll be thanking Robbie then!
