What's a Flexhibit? A Flexhibit is a Flexible Exhibit package that contains a set of hands-on learning activities, attractive banner graphics, and video podcasts that make it possible for groups of 10- to 15- year olds to engage in both learning and teaching. Groups of students can complete the learning activities in approximately 10 sessions, then use the materials and models to host a public science event—a "flexible exhibit"—that features the ANDRILL project, an international science research project recovering sedimentary rock cores from beneath Antarctica's ice to learn about the continent's climate history.

Five banners introduce the project’s themes, building knowledge about Antarctica and how and why ANDRILL conducts geologic research there. The learning activities feature physical models that illustrate geologic concepts plus a range of maps and photographs of Antarctica. The video podcasts can be viewed on computers, iPods, or mp3 players. They provide background information for youth activity sessions as well as for attendees at Flexhibit events.

Banners are produced in a number of languages and contain subtle geographic differences tailored to each country. These are available in English (for the U.S. and New Zealand), Spanish, Italian, French, and German. The entire kit is available in Italian through this site: http://www2.mna.unisi.it/flexhibit/index.html
