This 1 hour webinar celebrates Antarctica Day 2015 with PolarTREC teacher Michelle Brown and the Human Impacts in Antarctica 2015 expedition. Michelle and her team are on the ice, at McMurdo Station, sharing their research project with the webinar audience.

This one hour webinar is a great look at the PolarTREC 2014-5 Antarctic expeditions. Each teacher presents on the research projects, implementation in the classroom, and outreach into communities.

Overview

PolarTREC teacher Emily Dodson participated in a scientific expedition in the summer of 2014 at Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. Emily’s book is a telling of the science story behind the teams work and Emily’s participation as an educator and field assistant on the PolarTREC expedition.

This one hour event is an introduction to the expedition with Yamini Bala and her team. They address life at McMurdo and what it will be like at their remote field site at WAIS Divide (West Antarctic Ice Sheet).

This one hour webinar features Alex Eilers and the team studying Weddell Seals in the Ross Sea. The team shares their research with the audience and honors the importance of Antarctica Day. The event celebrates the international treaty stating that Antarctica is set aside for peaceful scientific purposes.
