This one hour PolarConnect event is with Jamie Esler and the research team in central Iceland. The focus of this event is on drumlin formations and their importance.
This PolarConnect event was held on 14 December 2010 with Lesley Urasky, John Stone, and the rest of the research team working on the Glacial History in Antarctica expedition. The event was conducted from McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
This was a real-time event with PolarTREC teacher Casey O'Hara being broadcast from the South Pole Station, Antarctica. Casey presented on the IceCube telescope project and covered a bit about life at the South Pole station.
Kirk Beckendorf, along with researchers from the University of Wisconsin Madison are based at McMurdo Station, Antarctica and traveling around the continent maintaining automatic weather stations. About 300 students from about 13 states joined the event.
