This Live from IPY! event was held with PolarTREC teacher, Betsy Wilkening and University of California Davis researcher, Harry Beine who are studying the interactions between snow, atmosphere, ice sheets, and the ocean in Barrow, Alaska.
Kirk Beckendorf, along with researchers from the University of Wisconsin Madison are based at McMurdo Station, Antarctica and traveling around the continent maintaining automatic weather stations. About 300 students from about 13 states joined the event.
Elke Bergholz was joined by NOAA atmospheric researcher, David Hofmann to discuss their research taking place at the South Pole Station, Antarctica.
