Jeff Peneston, Liverpool High School science teacher and PolarTREC 2008 alumnus was introduced as the New York State Teacher of the Year at an event in the White House Rose Garden that was televised nationally on cable TV. This PolarConnect event was with PolarTREC Teacher Tina Sander and researcher Stacy Kim who are conducting research on the Antarctic seafloor using divers and an underwater robot. This is the first of three PolarConnect events this team will conduct.
