What is the popukation of emperor peguins?

How cold is it in Anartica?

How hard is it to survive?

Hi Malika, We are 800 miles away from any penguin polpulation so I would not be able to know about the emperor polpulation.
Today we had - 14 F. - 23 F with the windchill factor.
It is not hard to survive here at the station with heated rooms and all the comforts of home!. I have met travers teams that walked across Antarctica for more that 45 days and they survived as well. However, it would be hard to stay here all year around and without the support of the station. In the winter it can be as cold as - 120 F.
