Solar Radiation on the Greenland Icesheet 2011

Hi Mr. Pottinger, Im Veronica from Jhon Woods 3 period science class. I couldnt read any of your journals but i have one question; can solar radiation harm any animals in the sea? Please write back. Also, hope you have fun and sfe on your upcoming trip. -Veronica:)

Hi Veronica,That is a great question! I will ask my research team what they know about solar radiation affecting sea life. I do know that microscopic organisms in the ocean rely on the sun's radiation to produce food and that is passed down the food chain. In the mean time, you can go to previous expeditions and see my journals from 2010. I will be adding new entries to the 2011 expedition shortly.
