Hi Ms. Anderson, We very much enjoyed your webinar and talking to you on the phone.

Megan has another question, she is now on crutches because of a recent surgery on her knee, she would like to know what plans are in place to take care of someone who so seriously injured that the on-board doctors can't take care of their condition, can they be evacuated, or...???

Thanks

Kirk

Howdy Blanco! Great to talk to y'all on the live event. We were talking about Megan's question at dinner the other night. Our EMTs on board can handle "the small stuff", and they can contact physician's by phone, but for medical emergencies patients have to be transported to a nearby research facility on the continent. We are too far away for helicopter service, but I'm told that there is a British research base a couple of days from our location. So, if something came up that couldn't be handled on board the ship would travel to that base - probably at least a two day trip, if not more. From there a patient can be flown to Chile. There is an ice runway at that base (can't remember the name, but you could probably find it on the web) with planes that can get to Chile. Here's hoping that we all stay healthy!
Send more questions if you have them,
