dear mr.Harris and team if you get the chance, some time this week when ever you and the team have any spare time could you send me some notes or commints to put in this biography that i'm doing for school. the reason i ask is because it would make this project easy for me to do then research about it and look all over the place on the web, then just look at the notes you and the team send me. Hi Angus,I'm not sure what kinds of notes or comments that you want.  But if you have some specific questions, I will do my best to answer them.

i need to know what its like to live out there in the ice wilderness

Robert Harris

Hi angus,My journal gives some idea about the huts (arrival-3/31), food and showers (journal).  On the ice that time of the year it is always cold, when you step out of the hut.  You constantly think of the right amount of clothing layers to wear (dress for success).  You don't want to put yourself in a position where you will be out of camp and get frostbite.  You also double think things so that you don't make mistakes.  If you were to fall into an open lead think of the trouble you could be in just getting out and back on to the ice.  When it is windy everything gets worse as the wind chill goes up.  But if you dress right and are careful, you think wow look at this, it is so neat out here.  Every where you look is ice and snow.  Your breath can freeze on your balaclava and the ice opens leads and then pushes back together and forms pressure ridges.  There seems to be nothing alive out there.  But some how a few polar bears, arctic foxes and seals seem to make a living.  It is really a neat place to be.
Let me know if you have questions.

Mr. Harris
