Hi Regan, thanks for writing. I am doing pretty well on the ship and enjoying the
science we a redoing. It is fall down here, with no trees loosing their
leaves. We get snow every other day and mostly gray skies. We have seen
tons of things. Water, water, and more water, icebergs, animals, and more.
We have seen hundreds of penguins.
I became interested on the research when I read that the polar regions are
the areas in the world were the effects of global warming are more visible.
I wanted to learn about how scientists go around collecting the data for
answering important questions like how do the polar regions respond to
global changes? What can we learn about this changes? Our world is more
fragile than what some people think, and we only have one planet where to
live. It is important for us to understand how it works so we can take
better care of it.
Thanks again for writing,
Juan.
