Thank you, Ken, for the great journal notes and photos! My son, Dom, is on the drill team. It's wonderful to have on location news of your day to day activities. Sincerely, Laurel

Ken Williams

Hi Laurel,What a pleasure it was to meet Dom. When we moved down from Camp 11,000 feet all the way to Base Camp and we quickly determined that I was short of ability on the downhill with sled, Mike took over. On the last leg up to Base Camp, on the section called Heartbreak Hill Dom took my sled up adding to his own heavy backpack and sled load.....I think he might have been hungry....
He is both a gentleman and a scholar with a great sense of humor and I'm sure that you are very proud and thankful. You could tell that Dom was very connected to his family and I enjoyed all of our conversations.
Seth will be Journaling a sending photos from the drill site so please keep checking PolarTREC.
Take care,
Ken

Hi Ken, I don't know if you're still receiving messages but Dom's birthday is on May 29 and we (his family) would like him to know we're thinking about him and wishing for him good weather, yummy food, and a successful drilling day! Thanks.

Hi Laurel,You might be able to get an email to Dom by using the following address:
denaliicecore@gmail.com
Seth may get the note and then pass it on to Dom. Also, if you ask Seth for one of the sat phone numbers you might be able to get a call in. I am waiting for some pictures from Seth of the drill site and all of the drilling gear, so my hope is that the drillers will check in soon.
Good luck contacting Dom and if you do, give him a birthday wish from me, too.
Take care,
Ken
