cynthia

how old is the oldest bear ?

Cristina Galvan

Hi Cynthia,Great question! Polar bears usually don't live longer than 25 years.
The oldest recorded bear in the wild lived to be 32 years old.
Soon I'll do a journal entry with all the basic information about polar
bears. For now, you should go research some of this stuff on your own.
Try the Encyclopedia of Life - www.eol.org
You can search for any organism and find all sorts of information.
Thanks,

Hi Kaylen -Polar bears are mammals, just like humans. Therefore there are all of
the same similarities with all mammals.
However, the bears are adpated to living well in the cold. In fact,
they overheat at temperatures over 50 F - whereas you and I would be
chilly at that temperature.
Thanks,
