Just yesterday we encountered our first whales! It was very exciting
and we saw at least two dozen blows, that's when the whale takes breaths
and blows spray up into the air. Several whales were close enough that
we got a good look at them before the curved below the surface. It was
very exciting! We believe that most of them were bowhead whales,
although a few may have been grey whales.
I was so excited because it was our last day out on the research vessel.
Today we're unloading the boat, cleaning the equipment and packing up!
take care and safe seas!

p.s. look forward to seeing you next week.
