Do the glass floats have designs on it?

MakaylaThe glass floats do not have designs on the outside of them, but they often have a Japanese mark on the top that identifies the family or business that made them.  Sometimes it is a Japanese character and sometimes it is a simple box or circle or even a number.  I hope that when I brought the ones in to class to show all of you, that you saw some of the marks.  If not, please ask and I will point one out!
Sometimes the floats sit on the beach for a long time and they get "worn" by the sand as it blows around.  This makes the glass less shiny and more "frosted".  It's really cool when this happens while there is still rope tied on to them and the outline of the rope is visible!   I'll try to bring one of those to show you some time!
