I enjoyed your weather balloon post and appreciated the data, since we're studying gas laws right now in chemistry.
Did you and the other researches calculate the volume that the balloon will expand to when it reaches the higher altitude in order to calculate how much helium should be added to the balloon? If so, do you know how well the gas behavior resembles that of an ideal gas? Are there constants/"fudge factors" that need to be included in the calculation considering particle interactions that we assume are negligible when using the ideal gas law equation?
