Hi Heidi, Glad to hear you are finally out there! Can you give us an idea about weather conditions? Brr...stay warm, Lollie

Heidi Roop

Hi Lollie! The weather is starting to settle into true summer out here on the ice sheet. We have recently had a bout of +25F temps! It was never quite that warm last year, but no one is complaining :) Generally, at this time of year we have clear skies, temperatures around +5F and winds around 5-10 knots. However, it is always difficult to predicate. Tomorrow it could be so windy and cold that we could barely navigate around camp. Our coldest temps were hit early in the season when the camp was being built. During the camp set-up, temperatures dipped to -50F! Now that we are past the summer solstice, temperatures will start to drop. Soon, winter will be back at WAIS Divide and we will all be on our way back to lower latitudes!
