Hi Mary Ann,

Quick email to let you know we are all back safe from Kap Hoegh.  We were picked up last night, and now write this from the village school.  All is well.  We have had a wonderful last few weeks....chicks fledged...and we left the colony eeerily empty.  Fledging action was intence, Jerome and Ewan saw at least 300 chicks fledge one night.  The days and nights merged together as we all tried to maximise our time to enjoy the energy of fledging. All the science went well, and we had some quieter days at the end to enjoy some hiking and a sauna.  Rachaels highlight was an attack on one of her chicks she was holding by a gyr falcon (both Rachael and chick survived)!  We had visiters and a great boat trip north with them.  And, polar bear footprints on the beach.  Adventures continued until the end...with full days.  Very rough boat trip to the village yesterday...team sore, but...now clean..Just had muscox for supper (Ewan happy). We will send you a science update and photos soon.  Ewan, Rachael and Jerome leave for Iceland on wednesday, Ann and Karin stay another week to close up gear, organise equipment etc. etc.  Hope school has started smoothly, and transition home was happy,Thinking of you.
