Hi Jo,

The soccer game looked very interesting there on the snow. Where did you guys get a soccer ball?

I know you had a great experience as I have been reading your journals. What part(s) did you like best?

Are you sad to be leaving?

Hi Rob.  I am not sure, but I believe Barry Lefer brought the soccer ball.  However, it could have been part of the camp recreation equipment.  They sometimes set up volleyball, too.  Many folks bring their X-C skiis and if I ever get a chance to go to Summit again, I would certainly bring my skiis.  In the rec port, there is some exercise equipment and also morning yoga classes are held in there.  So everyone is thinking about some form of exercise.Best?...that is such a hard question.  The people were wonderful.  I loved talking to people and learning from everyone.  Participating with the drilling/core processing team was a great learning experience as was my time with the photochemistry team.  There wasn't a bad moment or a negative time.  Every aspect of my involvement at Summit was terrific.
Yes, it was hard to leave Summit.  But it has been also exciting to spend a few days at Kangerlussuag before flying back to Scotia Air Force Base.  We went hiking all day yesterday around Lake Fergusen looking for garnets, seeing musk ox and caribou, and enjoying warmer weather.  Today we went to the ice edge at Russel Glacier and that, too, was impressive.  It will be a lot warmer in Idaho than Kangerlussuag, but it is a nice transition.
I will be following your journals and know you will have an incredible learning experience.
