How long will it take until Greenland really is green (instead of white)?

As I remember, it's because Erik the red came to Greenland at summer time (back in the "Viking age"), where he first saw the land in the South Greenland. And if you have ever been in South Greenland during the summer, you will notice how green it actually is. And the in-land ice or glacier in South Greenland lies quite far inside, therefore not easy to spot at first sight of land. But I would recommend further reading and research at Wikipedia, I would consider the facts inside it accurate enough.
