The video from your June 30 post really does begin to give a sense of what the wind and drifting must be like at Summit Camp.  Isn't it hard to work in those conditions?  Will you be bringing back the Montana and MSU flags that are wind torn from the looks of them on the video to go in the artifact box?  Keep warm!  Mom

The wind slowed for 36 hours, long enough for us to get some more good data, but the wind is back. I am looking out the window at Sat Camp (11:30am July 3, Thursday), watching the flags whip in the 30 mile per hour wind and wondering if they bamboo poles that hold them up are going to make it through the storm!
In fact, the wind is moving so much snow around that the drift outside of Sat Camp is now about 5 feet tall! If this continues, the drift might entirely engulf our building!!! I have tried to take pictures but my lens becomes immediately covered in snow. I will have to wait for things to calm down.
The flags are coming back to Billings with me. The MSU flag is pretty torn and tattered, the Montana flag is much less torn up but is also showing the wear and tear from continued battering by the wind!
Georgia Tech's flag (a long sleeve t-shirt attached to a pole!) is also holding strong!
