Dear Mr. Lampert, this is Elaine from Mr. Wood's 4th period science class. He also has a current experiment going on in Alaska. Mr. Wood's also on Polar Trec as well. Anyways, I've been looking through a few of your new photos and I saw the Stalactite. I wanted to know if it was ice. Was it in a cave? Reply soon!

Michael Lampert

Hi Elaine, It is cool that Mr Wood is on his expedition. The Stalactite is ice. It is formed by the dripping water from the ceiling of the cave... ice is a mineral. If it collects some other minerals it might develop some color to it. thanks for the question
