Have you discovered anything so far that you didn't already know?

Lesley Urasky

Cortney,
I'm amazed at all the new things I've learned. It seems like every day I learn at least one new thing. I was probably learning the most on a continual basis while we were out in the field. In the evenings after work, the researchers would sit around discussing work by other scientists or what they'd found during the day. Much of their discussions were over my head, but I've learned a lot about glaciation in Antarctica during the last glacial maximum (ice age).
Now that we're back at CTAM, there are so many other research groups that visiting with them has taught me a lot about trace fossils and geophysics.
I've also helped out in the kitchen and learned about the logistics of how cooking for large groups of people in a remote camp work. There are always questions to ask if you're observant of the world around you.
